WMUK launches fall campaign with shortened drive
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University's public radio station WMUK kicked off its annual fall campaign on Saturday, Oct. 17, and hopes to cut on-air pledging in half.
WMUK will again feature a shortened pledge drive format designed to raise all of the dollars needed in half the live on-air pledge hours. Membership contributions and additional gifts directly support local program production and to purchase national programs such as "Morning Edition," "All Things Considered," "Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me!" and "From the Top."
Increased coverage
Over the last year, the station has increased its coverage of local news and culture including the addition of new programs "Between the Lines" and "Why's That?" WMUK carries two channels of news and music and a digital stream, Park & Westnedge, that is dedicated entirely to local musicians and music connected to Kalamazoo.

WMUK encourages members to support the programs they value by sending in their gifts, contributing on line at wmuk.org or calling in a pledge during the live portion of the pledge campaign.
